Here, we map out the connections of the game design project to the Common Core and our own state's Curriculum Frameworks (influenced by the Common Core). We should note that the specific connections to the Science Frameworks around content are not on this list. There are very specific strands about Geology that get addressed by the project, however.

Students storyboard and then create a narrative “story frame” narrative for science-based video game. The player learns about the science concept within the framework of a story that unfolds as a video game.

Students publish science-based video game on Gamestar Mechanic, a closed community of young gamers.
